Lisa Ferguson

Senior IT Project Manager

Lisa Ferguson has been an IT Project Manager in the Department of Learning Health Sciences since 2015. In this role, she led a 3-year project as the University of Michigan (UM) Site Project Manager to instantiate UM as a node on the PCORnet national research network. Joining the EMERSE team in June, 2020, Lisa brings that experience of working with a national research network to help expand the use of EMERSE. Lisa has over 25 years of experience working in the health IT industry in a variety of professional leadership roles including in the areas of project management, consulting, software development, vendor and client contract negotiations and resource/capacity planning. Lisa received her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Toledo, and her Master of Science in Information from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining the Department of Learning Health Sciences, Lisa worked for Shared Medical Systems, Siemens Health Services and Cerner Corporation.

David Hanauer

Project Lead

David developed the original version of EMERSE in 2005 and has been continuously working on the system since that time. He is board-certified in clinical informatics, carries out his own informatics research, and is the faculty lead for the informatics teams within the CTSA-supported Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research (MICHR). He is a faculty member in the University of Michigan Department of Learning Health Sciences and is a (very part time) practicing general pediatrician.

David Hanauer

Kellen McClain

Programmer Analyst/Lead

Kellen is a computer science graduate from the University of Michigan, and has been working in web application development since 2012. He joined the EMERSE team in the fall of 2018.

Guan Wang

Programmer Analyst/Lead

Guan has been working for scientific communities as an IT professional for over 15 years. His role includes software development, system administration and data management. In recent years, his focus was on designing and implementing software system for clinical, waveform and PACS data analysis in a near real-time fashion for informatics and data science teams at Michigan Medicine. Outside of work, he enjoys reading hardcopy books for programming, watching movies with his family, walking his dog, and collecting 1/6 scale military figures.
